What is Spreadsheet Server?

Does it work with Epicor Cloud?

Yes it will work for both cloud and on-premise.

What are Read-Only DB or Cloud Connector ?

This is a concept only for Epicor public cloud customers, as Epicor public cloud don't offer direct DB access, it run a replicated image of database with read-only access with Azure Data Studio. Then spreadsheet server can read it directly. You can also use it for other data visualization projects such as PowerBI.

What is Query Designer?

Spreadsheet server's financial module (or the Power License) will only read GL and Journal related information out of the box. If you want to go beyond Financial data, such as inventory, sales order etc. Then you will need Query Designer license.

What are the limitations for cloud connector?

At the time of this writing, cloud connector only extract GL/Journal related information, if you need other tables in Query designer, you need read-only DB.

How is spreadsheet server licensed?

At the time of this writing, it is licensed by user by machine. But you can swop it easily using the application configurator

Is it better than XL Connect?

In author's sincere opinions after many trainings on both products. Yes, it is better. If you are using XL Connect 5 (SP6). Please go with it without a question asked, as it is faster, less trouble. if you are using XL Connect 7, and you are using anything other than general ledger module. Then please get a Query Designer license.
